Privacy Policy
Effective: October 1, 2026
2.1 Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how 30ActsofKindness NFP collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use 30 Acts of Kindness™.
2.2 Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Mobile phone number
- Name or display name
- ZIP code, and the state, city, and timezone derived from it
- Act entries, titles, stories, comments, and feedback
- Mailing information for bracelets or recognition items, if applicable
We do not collect or store a password. Signing in uses your mobile number and a one-time code sent by text.
If you share an act by text or email, the message is composed in your own messaging or mail app. We do not collect the recipient’s phone number or email address.
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language
- IP address, device identifiers, push tokens, and app activity logs
- Usage analytics, crash data, and session data
- Reminder settings and notification interactions
2.3 How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Operate the 30-day challenge
- Calculate daily activity based on timezone
- Send reminders and service notifications
- Moderate content and enforce safety rules
- Support rewards such as bracelets
- Improve performance, reliability, and user support
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
2.3.1 Text Messaging (SMS)
We use text messages (SMS) in two ways. First, for account verification: when you sign in, we send a one-time code to confirm your mobile number. Second, for optional reminders: if you turn on Daily Reminder in the app, we send automated reminder texts to help you log your act of kindness — up to two per day, at the times you choose. Reminders require a separate opt-in, and consent is not a condition of using the app.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of reminders at any time by replying STOP to any reminder text, or by turning Daily Reminder off in the app; reply HELP for help. Opting out of reminders does not affect the verification codes needed to sign in.
We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in status to any third party or affiliate for their marketing purposes. Text messages are delivered through our messaging provider (Twilio) solely to provide these messages on our behalf.
2.4 Legal Bases for Processing
Where GDPR or similar law applies, we may process personal data based on consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, or protection of vital interests, where applicable.
2.5 Sharing of Information
We may share personal information with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file hosting), Twilio (text message delivery), Sentry (crash and performance diagnostics), Branch Metrics (invitation links and referral attribution), and PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle (donations and bracelet shipping).
We may also share information with legal authorities where required by law, and with our professional advisors.
We do not sell personal information.
2.6 Public Features
Depending on app settings and product design, your display name, city participation, family participation, leaderboard placement, and approved content may be visible to others.
2.7 Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain challenge history, administer contests and bracelets, investigate fraud and safety issues, and comply with legal obligations.
Shipping addresses. If you order a bracelet or other recognition item, we use your mailing address only to send it, and we delete the address 30 days after the order ships.
When you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app. We delete your name, mobile number, ZIP code, profile, reminder settings and reminder history, and what you wrote about your acts. The acts themselves stay in our totals with no name or number attached, so the people who invited you keep their counts. Feedback you sent is kept without your contact details. If you replied STOP to our texts, we keep that record so you are not texted again if you rejoin. Picture cards of acts you shared by email may remain at their link until we remove them. Deletion cannot be undone.
2.8 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
2.9 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your account or content, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability of your data, or withdraw consent.
You can delete your account yourself at any time in the app, under Settings > Delete My Account.
